What is IaaS ??

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a cloud computing model where a third-party provider (e.g. a cloud provider) delivers fundamental computing, storage, and networking resources on demand over the internet on a pay-as-you-go basis. It eliminates the need to buy, maintain and house hardware in a local data center instead, you rent virtualized hardware from a cloud provider.
It is kind of like renting a store where the landlord provides and empty room or hall and utilities (like electricity). However it is completely up to you to fill the store with the items you plan to market, design the store to fit your aesthetics and decide who you want to sell to.
In the tech world, the cloud provider handles the physical data centers, cooling and hardware virtualisation. While the cloud consumer (the users) retain complete control over the operating system, application, data runtime environments and middleware.

Who Controls What?

**
To successfully build on IaaS you must know the line between where ur duties ends and where the provider's duties begin. This relationship is governed by the Shared Responsibility Model.

  1. Cloud Consumer Responsibilities
  • Customer data and encryption
  • Identity and access management
  • Operating system configuration and security patches
  • Network traffic and fire wall rules (security groups)
  1. Cloud Provider's Responsibilities
  • Physical security of data centers
  • hardware infrastructure
  • Visualisation hypervisor layer

IaaS with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Let's look at Amazon Web Services, it is the most adopted cloud platform in the world today.AWS provides on-demand computing power, storage, databases, and advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure on a metered pay-as-you-go basis basis.
AWS offers numerous services and breaks them down into fundamental categories that allow organizations to build, deploy, and scale virtually any type of application:

1.Computer :Services like Amazon EC2 provide resizable virtual servers, while AWS Lambda offers serverless execution, enabling users to run code without provisioning or managing physical infrastructure.
2.Storage & Databases: Amazon S3 delivers highly scalable object storage, coupled with robust relational database tools like Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora, and managed NoSQL systems like Amazon DynamoDB.
