Thoughts on Qt Bridge for Rust? (GUI)

I'm considering building a GUI application in Rust, however I'm not familiar with the current GUI landscape. The areweguiyet.com site led me to discovering the GUI framework Qt.

Apparently Qt recently released a crate that bridges Rust to their framework: qtbridge. It uses QML, their own markup language, to declaratively design the UI.

They uploaded a getting started video yesterday which I thought was a good watch. It lists out that you need the qtbridge crate, the Qt Framework (6.10 or higher for your specific OS), and a C++ compiler for their dependencies.

I'm curious if anyone else has thoughts or interests in using Qt for Rust? My alternative choice is egui. From my understanding egui is an immediate mode GUI, and Qt is retained.

My application doesn't need to be concerned between these two differences, but I like the idea of a retained GUI for performance reasons (IIRC immediate renders constantly which can? lead to overhead). Also, coming from C# WinForms I have a special place for callback functions/ event handlers.

Thank you!
