NVIDIA's new Linux update fixes issues in two games
NVIDIA’s Linux graphics driver 620.70.06 opens the R620 series with changes to Wayland image synchronization and Vulkan support.
It fixes corruption and flicker in Vulkan apps on multi-GPU systems under a specific setting, and addresses occasional Final Fantasy VII Rebirth crashes involving VKD3D-Proton descriptor heaps.
In high-frame-per-second tests, the update improves image synchronization on Wayland, a graphics display environment used in Linux.
Flickering and image corruption in Vulkan applications on computers with more than one graphics card when a specific setting is enabled have also been fixed. The on-screen graphics indicator now supports all Vulkan modes, including Wayland and direct display.
For gamers, NVIDIA has fixed an issue that appeared on the R595 series that affected Assassin's Creed Shadows. It has also fixed occasional crashes in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth when using VKD3D-Proton, a tool that helps Windows games run on Linux.
