Apple has announced new mandatory content descriptors for apps in App Store Connect, effective November 16, 2026. Developers must update their age rating questionnaires to declare:

  • Shared Location: Real-world location sharing with others.
  • Dating and Relationships: Features enabling dating connections or virtual companions with romantic/sexual content.

Key deadlines and requirements:

  • Deadline: All apps must have these declarations completed by January 12, 2027.
  • Age Rating Impact: Apps with 'Dating and Relationships' will receive a minimum 18+ rating.
  • Regional Compliance: Brazil requires specific A16/A18 ratings for these features, with an option to request official ratings from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP).
