Found a photo app that actually stays offline
I finally sat down to deal with the mess that is my photo library. Years of phone dumps, SD card backups, random folders named "final_final_2". Someone on a forum mentioned Lap, a local-first, open-source photo manager, so I gave it a shot. Two hours later I had everything indexed, duplicates flagged, and albums sorted by date. The thing I love most: nothing leaves my machine. No cloud sync, no account, no photos being scanned somewhere for ads. It just reads your folders and lets you browse and search a huge library offline. If you've got tens of thousands of photos and value privacy, try Lap photo manager at https://lapphotos.com/. Free, open source, and quietly does its job. Honestly rare these days.
