What product or service would you use to store a large amount of images with metadata (like a title etc.) that can be retrieved via an API?

I'm a photographer and want a database of my own images, but I also do web dev work and would like an easy solution when building sites for clients who need a lot of images on their site. Ideally something I can call with an API and return images and other data on that image.
