In one line: TSK-Bench is a "real-work" benchmark — models build apps, connect agents and run automations from the identical starting point, then get scored; Browser Use is the "real-work" foundation — any LLM can click, fill forms and navigate live sites through it. The benchmark tells you who to pick; the framework tells you how to ship it.

TSK-Bench: swapping "chat scores" for "work scores"

On Oct 16, Taskade officially launched TSK-Bench (AI Task Leaderboard). The method is direct: every model receives the exact same request (word for word) and starts from the same point, then gets tested on real tasks — building a runnable app, connecting agents, and running automations — followed by real scoring.

The leaderboard builds on Taskade's TSK-1 Benchmark from September, which already scored nine model families (Claude, GPT, DeepSeek, Gemini, GLM, Kimi, MiniMax, Qwen, Grok) on a 0–100 TSK score with per-family evidence pages — for example GPT led at 88, while DeepSeek / Claude / Kimi / Grok tied at 75, Qwen scored 50 and Gemini 44. Each score is tied to dated build records you can inspect, not a blanket statement.

Note: the TSK-Bench launch post did not disclose the full participant list, scoring metrics or task-set size; details are subject to Taskade's official announcements. The TSK-1 scores above are from the published September evaluation.

Browser Use: letting LLMs truly "handle" the web

Browser Use is an open-source Python library (MIT license) that connects LLMs to real browsers: give it a natural-language task and it drives the browser through navigation, clicking, form filling and data extraction. It wraps Playwright with LLM-optimized DOM extraction, so models understand page structure without swallowing raw HTML and decide what to do next.

Released in late 2024, it quickly became the most popular AI browser-automation repo on GitHub: 100K+ stars, roughly 118K by mid-October 2026. Version 0.13.13 (Oct 17) adds support for OpenAI browser tools and fixes cloud-tab navigation and zoom-coordinate alignment. The company behind it, Browser Use Inc., went through Y Combinator Winter 2025 and raised a $17M seed round (Felicis-led, March 2025).

Three things matter for developers: open and auditable (transparent code, self-hostable), model-agnostic (BYOK — plug in any LLM), and demo-to-production (once it works locally, the same agent logic can run 24/7 in the cloud).

What to look at, and how to ship it

Stage What to look at How to ship
Pick a model TSK-Bench same-start real-task scores; published TSK-1 family scores & evidence pages Compare on your actual scenario (build / automation), not just chat leaderboards
Build the base Browser Use: MIT, model-agnostic, OpenAI browser tools (0.13.13) pip install browser-use, validate locally, then run persistent jobs on cloud hosts/containers
Go to production Self-host (cheap, controlled) or managed cloud (anti-bot, proxies, CAPTCHA) Automation tickets, scheduled scraping and batch forms run in the cloud with elasticity

The cheapest way to run agent workloads

Typical agent costs sit in two buckets: model inference and always-on infrastructure. The cost-saving stack is —

  • Brain via pay-as-you-go APIs: call models through Bailian-type model platforms; no self-hosted inference cluster;

  • Hands on cloud hosts/containers: run Browser Use-style automation on ECS or serverless compute, 24/7, billed by usage — far more stable than a laptop;

  • Automated scheduling & monitoring: move timed scraping, reporting and messaging to cloud scheduled tasks; humans only watch key checkpoints.

With this stack, a solo developer can stay well under ~$15/month — the leaderboard tells you whether a model can do the job; the cloud setup decides how much it costs to do it.

Put your agent automation in the cloud

New users get an official subsidy: 15% off (8.5折), on both model APIs and cloud servers
