AI inference startup Fal doubles valuation to $16B with $1.3B Bessemer-led round

Fal, a San Francisco startup that hosts and runs image, video and audio models for developers, has raised $1.3 billion at a $16 billion valuation, per TechCrunch — twice the $8 billion valuation the company reached in April 2026. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, an existing investor, with participation from Nvidia, Sound Ventures and T. Rowe Price, and Bessemer partner Talia Goldberg is joining the Fal board as part of the financing. The new round is more than three times the size of the April Series E.

The Series F was announced together with the Series E — a $350 million round led by Sequoia in April at the $8 billion valuation — bringing the two disclosed rounds to $1.65 billion combined. Fal sits in the inference layer of the AI stack, running models after they are trained so products can generate media without owning compute, and per TechCrunch the funding lands as demand for that work surges, with the strongest pull coming from customers building products on open-source models and relying on external providers for serving capacity.
