9 One-Page Cheatsheets for Commands You Keep Looking Up (ffmpeg, git, docker, curl, jq, regex)

2026-10-16来源 dev.toEnglish

I keep a notes file of commands I had to look up twice. At some point the file got long enough that I turned it into proper one-page cheatsheets — one topic per repo, nothing that I haven't personally run and verified.

The cheatsheets

FFmpeg — 28 commands: transcoding, CRF compression, audio extraction, the two-step GIF palette workflow, lossless cutting/joining, scaling, watermarks, RTMP streaming.

Git — 30 commands: daily workflow, the three reset modes explained plainly, rebase (plus the golden rule), stash, and a rescue kit built around reflog and bisect.
https://github.com/Ezra-Zhao/git-cheatsheet

Docker — 28 commands: images, container lifecycle, volumes and networks, Dockerfile essentials, Compose, cleanup, and a debugging checklist for containers that won't start.
https://github.com/Ezra-Zhao/docker-cheatsheet

curl — 29 commands, API-debugging oriented: auth headers, JSON payloads, timing output with -w, retries, cookies, proxies.
https://github.com/Ezra-Zhao/curl-cheatsheet

Regex — 30 patterns and techniques, with the engine differences (PCRE vs Python vs JavaScript) called out instead of hidden.
https://github.com/Ezra-Zhao/regex-cheatsheet

jq — 30 filters: select, map, group_by, aggregation, and curl | jq pipelines. Every filter was executed against real JSON before it went in.
https://github.com/Ezra-Zhao/jq-cheatsheet

Terminal superpowers — 14 modern tools that replace cd, ls, cat, grep and friends.
https://github.com/Ezra-Zhao/terminal-superpowers-cheatsheet

Adobe free alternatives — 16 free tools mapped to what they replace.

Desubscribe — 10 subscription swaps that save roughly $1,260 a year.

Why three languages?

Every repo ships READMEs in 中文, Español and Português alongside the English cheatsheet. Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking developers are among the fastest-growing groups on GitHub, and practical reference material in their languages is still scarce. If a cheatsheet is worth making, it's worth making readable.

Corrections are genuinely welcome — open an issue or PR on any repo and I'll fix wrong commands fast.
